I'm Leslee Mcelrath, MD, a board-certified family medicine physician through the American Board of Family Medicine, with over 10 years of experience caring for patients across Northeast Ohio.
I believe the most effective medicine starts with listening, continues through education, and works best when patients are active partners in their care. That philosophy shapes everything we do at Monarch Ideal Care.
Over time, I saw how rushed visits, fragmented care, and limited access made it harder for patients to truly understand their health—and harder for physicians to practice medicine well.
So I build a practice that prioritizes:
Strong, long-term patient relationships
Time to think, explain, and collaborate
Access that feels supportive, not transactional
Today, Monarch Ideal Care offers multiple ways to receive care—including insurance-based primary care, concierge medicine, direct primary care, and functional wellness services—all grounded in the same core philosophy.
Different paths. One approach.
As the practice has grown, I chose to reintroduce insurance-based care alongside DPC, concierge, and wellness services—not because the philosophy changed, but because patients deserve options.
Some people want:
Traditional insurance billing
A membership model with enhanced access
Functional testing and lifestyle-based care
Or a thoughtful combination over time
My goal is to meet patients where they are—and help them experience a more intentional, relationship-based approach to medicine regardless of how they choose to engage.
Family medicine allows me to care for the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.
That means:
Education over quick fixes
Prevention alongside treatment
Lifestyle, nutrition, and stress as part of the clinical picture
Medications used thoughtfully when needed
"Holistic" has become a buzzword—but to me, it simply means seeing how all pieces connect, and helping patients understand those connections.
Outside of medicine, I'm deeply creative. I taught myself how to sew, enjoy crafting, write regularly, and even designed this website myself.
That creative mindset shows up in how I practice:
Problem-solving
Systems thinking
Building solutions instead of templates
Medicine, like creativity, works best when there's room to think.
You'll likely feel at home here if you:
Value clear communication and education
Want a physician who knows your history
Prefer unrushed visits and thoughtful care
Are open to being involved in your health decisions
The best way to know is to start with a conversation.
