Women don't "flip a switch" into menopause. Hormone changes often begin in perimenopause, continue through menopause, and affect life in post menopause as well.
At Monarch Ideal Care, we evaluate symptoms and labs together, then discuss whether hormone replacement therapy is appropriate—always with clear expectations and ongoing monitoring.
Women naturally produce testosterone—just at lower levels than men. It's commonly overlooked, but it can play a meaningful physiologic role in:
energy and drive
mood resilience
libido
muscle mass and strength
cognitive clarity
We evaluate estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone based on your symptoms, history, and labs—rather than assuming every woman needs the same recipe.
Hormones can shift for many reasons, including:
age and life stage transitions
chronic stress and poor sleep
illness or inflammation
weight changes and metabolic health
thyroid dysfunction
certain medications
Sometimes symptoms are hormone-related. Sometimes they are not. Our job is to help you sort that out.
Hormone therapy here is replaced therapy. We're not forcing your body to produce more hormones.
If you discontinue treatment, your hormone levels return toward your pre-treatment baseline over time. Because we use bioidentical hormones, patients are not "worse off" for having tried therapy—though symptoms may return if hormones were truly a driver.
We provide two bioidentical options:
Sublingual troches — often recommended as a starting point for people new to hormone therapy because the shorter half-life allows for dosing adjustments. It's a daily dissolvable to boost hormone levels.
Subcutaneous pellets — steady release over months after your body heals around the pellet to absorb and use the hormones.

Complete comprehensive labs (CBC, CMP, lipids, thyroid panel, vitamin D, B12, hormone levels)
Review results through a functional lens and decide on a plan
Follow up monitoring and adjustments as needed
Most women experiencing moderate to severe menopause symptoms are candidates, but eligibility depends on your overall health, medical history, and individual risk factors. A medical evaluation is required to determine if HRT is safe and appropriate for you.
Many patients begin noticing relief from symptoms like hot flashes and sleep issues within a few weeks. Full benefits often develop over several months as your body adjusts to the hormone levels. Remember that menopause symptoms are just how your body is responding to hormone fluctuations, when we balance them those symptoms improve.
Some women may experience mild side effects such as breast tenderness or mood changes when starting HRT. If we are doing testosterone treatments, then excess hair growth can become an issue. We closely monitor your health and adjust your plan as needed to keep you safe and comfortable.
We offer sublingual troches and subcutaneous pellets as treatment at the Monarch Ideal Care office.
Yes, HRT can be discontinued at your discretion or upon your provider’s advice. We'll work together to ensure any changes to your therapy are smooth and appropriately managed to minimize discomfort.
